Today's WOD scheduled times will run as usual.
Today's S-WOD is dedicated to Jen Dolan. You may know her for many different reasons. I got to know her pretty well, especially when I would have my oil checked while enjoying a beverage at a bar, i'm sure I'm not the only. I also had the pleasure of coaching her, she is one of the fiercest female competitors I know. With her pitbull attitude and her "F" it mentality she has accomplished many feats.
She is leaving us in three weeks to work in Okinawa, Japan on a U.S. Naval base. Our loss is CrossFit Asia's gain. JD, I personally need to thank you for looking after Lucas at MCH. You have been an inspiration to many members. IACF & CFG will not be the same. You will be missed. We love you... BALLSSSSS!
"Waking the Dead-lift"
10 - 3 -20 - 2 - 30 - 1
Deadlifts
For each set you should choose a weight that you will struggle to complete all reps. Meaning, go heavy! For the higher numbered sets (10, 20, 30) the bar should be lowered with a tap and go from the floor. For the lowered numbered sets (3, 2, 1) you may rest for a split second once you lowered the weight before you pull again.
Post total loads to comments
25 Dead Hang Pull-ups
DB Press 3 x failure M35 W20
100 MB Recliner Taps (each tap = one rep)
100 Supermans
*Optional Metcon WOD to be posted.
What can I say, she is one of the baddest girls I know. I sure am going to miss texting/blogging with her to compare our times and weights :(
What am I going to do now??? CFG won't be the same without you, who is going to make the new guys feel ashamed because you lift more than they do? All kidding aside, you will be missed. And who is going to keep the CFG blogging alive? Have a great time girl and kick some ass in Japan!

Well, I definitely don't think we have to worry about our blog being less active while Jen is in Japan. If I know her as I do, believe me her presence will always remain on our site. She will be absent physically, but NEVER gone or forgotten in our hearts and our blog!! JD, where do I begin?! In the last year and a half, I have gotten to know you as a co-worker, neighbor, fellow xfit "junkie", but most importantly as a true friend!! You are one special chic and I am proud and honored to call you my friend. You have a genuine heart, a fierce spirit, and you will do anything for those you care about! Your daily visits to my office will be sorely missed and I don't know what I'm going to do now that I won't have anyone to yell at or preach to during drunken debaucherous outings, but I know that you will always remain a lifelong friend! Mike couldn't have said it better, Japan is gaining a remarkable person, and we will feel the loss in Miami! But, I have no doubt that you will come back home to us in the near future. Your hard work, passion, and dedication will take you far! You know I'm not a "potty mouth" or a fan of the "B" word, but this one is for you, baby.....BALLLLSSSS!!! Love you, girl!!!

Shouldn't the WOD be called BALLS or the non-potty-mouth FAILEO?
Posted by: Mattyorourke | Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 09:43 PM
@Tania: That almost made me cry! How perfectly put!
I couldn't have thought of a more perfect WOD to commemorate the tough as "balls" JD. Her tenacity with weights never ceases to blow my mind, but that level of fierce determination is matched by an attitude of genuine down-to-earth love and support for her fellow Crossfitters. In the time that I've known her, she's one of the individuals who has transformed the box for me - it's something *more* than just a workout. It's about leaving it all out there and pushing yourself to the limit. Good luck in Okinawa, girl! We'll miss you tremendously!

I am not prepared for a post dedicated to the one and only Jen "The Deadlift" Dolan. My heartfelt farewells will most likely be mumbled over several pints of vodka at The Bar, post WOD, sometime soon. But until then, I'd like to say...
"F" this WOD - deadlifts kills me - but I dare not FAILEO because today is for Jen. Heart you, grrrrrl. Get some.

p.s. the cast is off and I'm FINALLY going back to the box....WOO HOO!!! Monday, August 2nd will be the day that I will, once again, be humiliated, I MEAN humbled by Crossfit. Lord, help me!!

Jen Dolan,
I’m filled with sadness from my heart to my colon.
So I wrote you a rhyme,
For all those times we shared a vodka soda with lime.
Yes you can dead lift a large section of the sea,
But that is not what impresses me.
The smile on your face,
Made CFG a happier place.
“Lame” “Faileo” and “BALLLLS”
You broke all of Webby’s laws.
“I’m not woding today” didn’t mean you wouldn’t show,
And on the dance floor you get pretty damn low.
“Teabaggers” is all I needed to say,
WE HAD TESTICLES FOR ONE WHOLE DAY.
The blog should retire the use of “JD”
And Mike… grant her credit for her “DT”.
You encourage everyone with all your heart,
And you make them feel welcomed from the day they start.
Since you speak Spanish better than most,
I know you’ll understand this toast.
Salsa, Merengue, y Bachata,
Esta tipa es tremenda sata.
Te esperan hombres en uniforme,
Asegúrate que tengan el _________ enorme. :)
Que te vaya muy bien en Japón,
Y que sigas bailando “el Son”.
Te echaré de menos mi compay,
Para ti deseo SALUD! que en Japonés se dice KANPAI!

Ok so I'm with Britt on this one, I am not ready to say goodbye so I'm going to sulk and whine. I will say that everyone's posts are on point with who you are as a person. JD you specifically motivate me EVERY time I step foot in that box. I always try to do what you do. You push me beyond my limits and have been such a support for me. Mad love to you. Again I'm not ready yet so I am going in the corner and having a fit. My post will come in due time
